Your local Lyttelton pizza joint

History

Based in Lyttelton, Arbour celebrates Canterbury’s best produce through our menu. Our pizzas stand out because we combine our slow-fermented dough with innovative topping combinations using high quality local ingredients.

Rooted in our love of trees and all things local, our toppings fuse Italian classics with bold Kiwi flavours. Foraged herbs, seasonal produce, and locally made Italian-style cheeses and meats create a unique menu that keeps customers, near and far, coming back.

We create an innovative food experience that is unmistakably local, joyful in flavour, and deeply connected to our community.

Think local

We believe in supporting local. Our menu showcases local breweries, wineries and food producers.

Some of our local suppliers:

Cassels Brewing Co —  a family owned, award winning Craft Beer Brewery, located in Christchurch, New Zealand.

27 Seconds —  Change a life with each purchase. 100% of their profits go towards ending modern day slavery.

Whistling Bouy —  Our very own harbour basin vineyard! Grapes grown on the beautiful hills of Charteris Bay.

Forager —  A family project by award winning Waipara wine maker Dominic Maxwell. A unique & rare vintage.

Lothlorian Organic Feijoa Sparkling Wine —  The only certified organic feijoa winery in New Zealand.

Little Biddy Gin from Reefton Distillery —  Created in honour of Reefton legend Little Biddy, a pipe-smoking, gin-toting, 4 foot tall goldminer. Our search for native botanicals takes us deep into the same West Coast rainforest where Biddy once fossicked for gold, to craft a uniquely New Zealand gin with a pioneer’s attitude.

Mikaku Tea Blends —  Organic, fruits & herbs, dehydrated & blended with spices

Unique aesthetic

Housed in a new building featuring a clear roof, exposed wood finishings, a repurposed 120-year-old Lyttelton fishing boat as the bar, and packed with plants, our arborist owners want you to feel like you are walking into a giant glasshouse.

Sustainability & local sourcing

Sustainability is at the heart of our business — our pizzas are as good for the planet as they are to eat. Inspired by the Food Made Good Standard:

  • We source locally and responsibly, supporting farmers, fisheries, and high-welfare producers while offering more plant-based choices

  • We invest in our people and community through fair wages and meaningful engagement, for example, sponsoring local fundraisers

  • We also cut our environmental impact with low-carbon delivery, waste minimisation, and compostable packaging from Christchurch-based Frankly Packaging
